Box Blitz

Community Involvement

As this project requires hundreds-thousands of wooden trunks of various sizes, we greatly appreciate the contribution of Boy Scouts who have completed box blitzes as their Community Service Project towards completion of the rank of Eagle Scout. Brian Post, Sam Cohen, Patrick Soloman and Matt Baumann involved fellow scouts, other friends, troop leaders and parents in the box blitzes each put on. You can see aspects of the box building process below. Arrows on the pictures point to the three of the four Eagle Scouts listed above.

We are also grateful to the Campbell County High School Chapter of FFA, sponsored by Eric Reynolds, who also built literally hundreds of boxes for our program in 2009 and 2010. Below are some images of CCHS FFA students hard at work during the construction process.

Both the Eagle Scouts and Campbell County FFA have been instrumental in helping us reach numerous schools throughout the state, as well as several school systems in neighboring states. Many thanks to all of these individuals, their friends, and parents for helping make our materials available to a broader audience of schools that really need them!
