I am interested in territorial behaviors – how individuals divide space and resources between themselves, who benefits from these interactions, and how we as researchers estimate territory sizes. I am specifically interested in the behaviors of species that were recently moved around by humans. What happens when a territorial native species is invaded by a closely related territorial invasive species, one who competes over the same resources and communicates with similar defensive behaviors? I explore this question using green (Anolis carolinensis) and brown (Anolis sagrei) anole lizards.
